Message: I am finally pretty much settled down here in Quantico. On my drive here my family and I stoped in Ft worth Texas and hooked up with Kauffman and his family, He gave my family and I a place to stay for a couple of nights, We had some good BBQ. and he showed us some great hospitality. On the morning that we were leaving to continue our trip to the east coast Kauffman took me and my family to breakfast and he footed the bill. Thank you Kauffman!!!!! You are a brother to me. Tom

The only difference is the numbers on the address. That is from a buddy of mine in India Company he is the 1stSgt Breze is his name. I called him the other day out there and they are doing good. Lima Co I guess has been getting into alot of shit out there. They have had quite a few wounded but they are handing it to the little fuckers daily. As for us here we've been in the mix for a while now it has slowed down quite a bit since we handed there ass to them in large numbers. 2/4 took the brunt of the wounded but in return they laid waste to shit loads of them. They are doing well and in good spirits despite loosing a lot of there brothers. I should go for now I'll and take care of some shit take care and be safe.

Message: Chosa to answer you question is kind of tough. Since the Marines got into town we have taken more of the tough areas that the army didn't want and the enemy forces have started to organize themselves better. It's not some guys you see in uniform even though we are finding that the Iraqi police force is envolved in some attacks. They use IEDs alot so at night they set them along the roads and now they are using remote detonators from a distance of 200 to 500m away. There hard to spot and it's a roll of the dice when they set them off. You will be driving down the road and they are dug in the ground or inside a tire on the side of the road and bam they set it off. There is trash every where along the road so it's hard to spot them. The Marines have started going out at night and nailing them but they're are so many of them and a lot fo area to cover. They have started to attack Marines with RPGs and small arms also mortars at the same time. It's like ambushes everyday. Today 2/4 was in a running gun battle for 5 hours with about 50 guys they surprised as they were loading up some explosives. They killed 2 Marines and wounded 5 more but we smoked a lot of them. We've been using the Spectars at night lately which is helping a lot. You don't know who they are, you just have to trust your instincts and hopefully you get the drop on them before they get it on you. There just average rag heads dressed like everyday people. Well I have to get going and get to medical they are bringing in some guys and I'm heading over there. Take care Shindig out!

I had to call on that radio for 2 days before they humped within range of that damn Prc77 radio.

Message: Hey, anyone hear from Corall? He's a SSgt in the reserves and in February he was fairly sure he was going to deploy.
Favorite Story: In New Mexico, doing the anti-narcotis ops in the national forest. Dodge was driving us back from a three day patrol, and we were all supposed to be operating incognito. Well, Dodge does something that gets the atteniton of a state trooper and we get pulled over. As Dodge pulls the van over, someone (mighta been Clovis, might not have been, I cant remember) says very seriously "I think we should take this guy out." What was funny was that for a second I think everyone really considered it. Obvioulsy we didnt, but you should have seen the look on the troopers face when he opened the sliding door of the van and saw the full compliment of weapons that you would normally expect to find with an infantry squad. I think he was shitting Krispy Kremes that night....

Message: Hey Shindig!
Whats up hard charger? I don't believe half of the news here, but everyday they keep posting more and more fatalities, not
just americans, but other coalition type forces. Just how clear is it who your dealing with over there! Sounds pretty chaotic at best! Hope this finds you kicking ass and taking names, but most of all in one piece....do you need anything we can send besides pogey bait!
Let us know brother...we can get it there eventually. Hope to see you at the next reunion.
