Message: Although the views expressed by Father Chosa may seem unpopular, the circumstances that we experienced together in Gulf War 1.0 give us each a perspective on the situation not shared by those who never wore the uniform. Add to that each persons unique make up and that makes for some fairly wide-ranging opinions on the matters effecting the world today. I for one welcome all of your view points, although I dont/wont necessarily agree with them. I dont mind reading about them here, I can always choose not to read them.

Regardless of Chosa's view on Mike Moores film, his message to get out and vote is as important a message that can be posted on this or any sight. If you like the current administration, assert that with a vote for Bush, if you like Kerry, vote democrati. If you fall somewhere in between, find someone you can get behind and vote. Any way you look at it, this is participatory democracy in action and fail to participate is, in my estimation, the greatest insult to those who have served to protect and defend our way of life. Your choices are simple;

1. Vote and feel free to bitch and be a critic

2. Shut the fuck up.

Message: A few notes on the Movie 911...I saw it and it made me ill, any vet that sees this movie should be affected. Skewed to the left without a doubt, still even if 25 percent of this movie is fact, that should be enough to convince any person that something is wrong in the current administartion, truly in any administration since we all have been alive. Please go see the movie and make your own opinion! Don't believe anyone else, not even me..make your own judgement. The Live video footage enough should be convincing! Get out and vote this year, you have no excuse especially if you have served. Many of our brothers are dying everyday overthere, and much worse are the thousands of wounded, this movie should drive you to make a choice. Personally I thinkwe need radical change in government..no Dem or Repubs seem to get it right. It is time for change. We must raise our voice and speak and quit sitting on the sidelines, if you believe in true democracy and freedom, ask yourself what is just at stake and why.
incidently I was talking with two hardcore Marine Force Recon Vietnam Vets
here and the movie had those guys upset and crying, alot like when vets saw Platoon the first time. the truth is out there and it is ugly. I am not sure
what I really want to say except: Question Authority, use your intelligence, make your own conclusion.
I miss all you guys, and I am proud to have been and remain your faithful brother here in this beautiful world. All my faith...God Bless us all.
Favorite Story: A future story...one in which the brave young men and women willing to lay their life on the line are shown the proper respect they deserve, are treated with care upon return from overseas duty, a story in which we don't wantonly waste the lives of people sworn to protect the truest virtues of freedom, and not protecting someone else pocketbook. A story that will bring about a better world not just for ourselves but for everyone.

Message: Mike,

PI Seals Story- Lindo and Someone from Weapons spent the night in the brig. The Seals CO found out and had the charges dismissed somehow, not for sure. We were all swaping shirts to hide our identity. A few of us stomped a Shore patrol down and as a Butter bar SP approached we helped him up and asked him if he was ok. Very slick the poor squid was trying to rescue the Karate Seal and he pulled him down. We could resist we stommped'em like cockroaches. Too Funny! It was all in good fun.

Message: Gents... I'm not MIA, I'm still around... moved into a new place... finally squared away everything and got the computer connection to the web... made some new postings to the roster... mostly RCT 4 and 2/7 Marines... posted Salinas ugly mug on the "see them now" section.

If any of you clowns are visiting San Francisco... look me up... (except Sangi) gotta a great pad with a view of the Golden Gate bridge.
Favorite Story: (MAGTF 4-90... at the end of our deployment) The night of the Navy birthday, Lima 3/7 was on a search and destroy mission for SEAL team 5 in Subic Bay, PI... those supposedly "elite" barnacle scrubbers we're handed a beat down from the fine young men of 3/7... it was supposed to be a 2nd plt op but when word got out that 5 Seals played soccer with the heads of two Marines... well that didn't sit right with the remainder of the company... so the short sweep of the Sampugita club erupted into a fire-fight of fists, beer bottles, tables, chairs and good old ass beatings. Hey Sangi... do you still have that watch from the "Karate expert" that you help drop to the carpet?

It was like watching cockroaches run for cover when you turn on the lights... those Seals couldn't get out fast enough... when the night was over we all slipped back to upper MEF and slept like babies.

The next day we found out that we put a couple Seals in the hospital and word spread around base that "any Marine from 3/7" caught in lower MEF was as good as dead... those dumb bastards... well after being restricted to our area, so we could pack our gear, we boarded some C-130's bound for OKI... those stupid Seals we're handed a hard earned lesson about the USMC... we take care of our own. I miss the good old days!

Message: Just returned from vacation with the family in Maui. I don't know where this came from, but suddenly a dream that was like a highlight video of our time in Saudi/Kuwait was my dream and I remember seeing the faces of the flight crew on the flight over as well as the flight back. And then the images that I wish would just go away... in slow motion, I saw Porter's truck getting hit again and I, again was witnessing Lane being attended to by the corpsmen, but to no avail. The spooky thing was when I woke up very abruptly, suddenly on the headphones that I was wearing, the song "God Bless America" came on. I'm glad that it was an overnight flight which meant the entire cabin was dark and everyone was sleeping because I'll admit that I had to wipe away the tears.

God Bless you all and Semper Fi' brothers

Favorite Story: When the Sergeant Major was talking to us in Okinawa about us being called to serve in Desert Shield and he was cussing up a storm telling us about his time when he was called to serve in Vietnam. Then suddenly, someone went up and whispered something and he stopped and looked around and realized that he had been cussing up a storm inside of a chapel. The look on his face was priceless!

I will be performing two ceremonies in the next year, my first is likely to be a baptism, and then a marriage next summer, its a multi-denomionational organization, but I will adhere to traditions and the prescribed rituuals, depending on the faith of the people, and of course local state laws as applicable.

Well Everage treated me to one of the best meal I've ever eaten. Great Tequilla, great conversation and great food. In that order. Everage had to work that night so we cut things short around 2100. Chicago is a beautiful city. What I wasnt aware of was the water way zig zagging thru the center of the city. Thanks Sav for a memorable day. Photos to follow
Favorite Story: Luke Rains being a no show for dinner with Everage and myself. And Omar Gadsden not knowing who I am. I bet if he had wokin up next to me in Vegas he would have remembered.
