Favorite Story: The DEADLINE for input is November 15, please contact McGehee. Any input (crying) after the 15th will be put in the great circular file. This has been bouncing up in the air for to long. The fact that some of you cannot afford the trip is being jammed up by the fact that we keep ignoring the deadline for the possibility to take advantage for one. That means the sooner we get an actual number of people that is going to make it, the better chance we have of getting a decent room rate. CHEAP GOOD FOOD. Have any of you ever been to Vegas?

David (Pennington) has already ñnetworkedî with several people, including the local union, for us to get a great deal.

Hilton already has his wife Darlene humping the hills, and he may be in school for the time of the reunion. So who is at a greater loss? People? WTF? Step up to the plate. The kids CAN do without THAT many toys, and the wives can wait.

This is a reunion of a bunch of great people. I love you people dearly. This is NOT a TOUR of Vegas. We are going to be hounding the streets, talking about old times. NOT taking the wives to see magic shows or shopping. ThatÍs the money that you should spend on yourself, in Vegas. Sure the wives wonÍt like it, but oh well. Bring them the next time you go to Vegas. Nothing personal guys, but I'm worried about YOUR happiness when you see each other, after a minimum of 8 years. THATÍS what its all about. Remember that? Or was THAT all a bunch of crap?

ThatÍs it, with no sugar on top. Someone had to do it. Some of you may be mad about this, IÍll get over it.
I am also posting this on the site, for everyone to see. If you need a hand, maybe some of us can help each other out. Not paying for it, just a ñlittle helpî

Message: I was First Sergeant of Kilo 3/7 after you Grizzly Warriors returned state-side... also the oldest man in 7th Marines at the time. My warrior years were with Hotel 2/1 in Vietnam (68-70).

Enjoyed reading of your exploits in this site... triggers fond memories. If you haven't posted yet, please do so. Trust me, you will cheerish these sea-stories as you advance in years.

Another way to stay in touch is in the Internet Gaming Community. Old warriors can run fast and jump high again... on the Internet.

I play first-person-shooter games, mainly the Delta Force series by Novalogic. Using programs like Ventrilo, Roger Wilco, and Team Speak, I play realistic wargames while speaking to other players live and on-line on a nightly basis... many are veteran warriors from all over the world. Even ran into Jarheads and Squids I had lost track of years ago. Made new friends too, old warriors eager to experience the comradship of days gone by. Some have colorful character names like "RustyZipper" a Vietnam Huey pilot from Arizona. We even have a USMC General in our mix. We are warriors, cops, paramedics, doctors and housewives... do battle with that housewife, she'll humble you....
Favorite Story: I had just taken over as First Sergeant of Kilo 3/7 and everyone, including the Company Commander, was wondering about me.

One of our best Sergeants screwed up big time and it was left to me to decide his punishment. The Sergeant Major wanted his head (courts martial).

This Sergeant of Marines won the Bronze Star in Desert Storm... this, in my eyes, granted him a "get out of jail free card." He will be punished but he will be punished in a dignified manner.

I made the Sergeant wait outside my office for 45 minutes to an hour, standard operating procedure... I would sweat him, the same treatment I endured numerous times in my career.

I ordered the Sergeant into my office and he reported smartly and appropriately... he was a pro. I then stood, walked over to my office door and gently shut it in the Company Commander's face... he and the Platoon Commanders were courious but this was none of their business at the moment.

I asked the Sergeant to be seated and poured us a cup of coffee.

After I seated myself, I asked him one question... "What have we learned, Sergeant?"

I will not betray what the Sergeant told me. He did convince me that he had done what any self-respecting NCO would do in similar circumstances.

What had he done?

The Sergeant had covered for one of you "Grizzly" Marines. One of you went "UA" and had been UA for three days before this fact came to light. The Sergeant put himself at risk to protect a fellow Desert Storm warrior... you see, comradship extends well beyond the battlefield.

I let the Sergeant choose his own punishment, off the books. He faithfully executed this punishment... I checked on him periodically until I was satisfied that he was a man of honor. I even did battle against my superiors on his behalf concerning his next Fitness Report, the initial submission was a soup-sandwich and I could not abide that.

This sort of thing went on continuously behind closed doors or in whispered conversations between SNCOs and NCOs... lest you Marines and sailors think that your SNCOs/NCOs did not care about you.

What goes around comes around. When I retired, I was presented with gifts from the Marines and sailors of Kilo 3/7. These gifts included a brand new Colt .45 Commander, a "steel pot" with Vietnam era camouflage cover, 782 Gear of the 'Nam era, a very rare pistol holster, one with "USMC" on the holster flap, and a huge 3 foot by 5 foot plaque with the pictures of "my" Kilo 3/7 Marines and sailors.

The "old man" cheerishes those gifts and has fond memories of his brothers-in-arms.

Semper Fidelis

Sangi you spelling bee champion! Try getting an education and/or using a fucking dictionary. As for the johnson pic from PI... I distinctly remember you, with your lifetime bar fine, soon to be mail order bride, up stairs in the bungalow in Grande Island? and hearing you say ñMike come up stairs and bear witness of a force feeding and by the way bring the camera.î Hell? you even remember an audio recording of a back door forced entry from the same simian looking ñworking girlî and proudly playing your victory episode over and over in the squad bay?

As for the Vienna sausage pic from FL? you weÍre back to the same old Sangi? someone passes out and you try to force feed someone again? this time you weÍre dumb enough to try it with a Marine that sleeps with his 45? imagine a down syndrome, gorilla back looking closet *** hunkering over another guyÍs face at night, when we should be sleeping. Your camera, your idea and your homosexual tendencies?

By the way who wants to be SangiÍs roommate in Vegas?
Favorite Story: Remember the SEAL beatdown in PI? The Seal that got caught up in the galley with both Martinez boy's on either side of him holding those heavy ass Red Horse crates in both hands practicing the bongos on the back of his grape... or the same night the SEAL got surrounded in the hallway and thought he was Bruce Lee and yelled "heyahhh" and everyone all at once drilled him in the face at the same time and combat tackled his ass... he went down hard... Sangi do you still have his watch?

Favorite Story: Only the guys from 1st plt will remember this one. Just before we went to japan we were out in the stumps doing night patrol training. We set up our tents on a small hill with another bigger hill next to it. I had to shit so I went to the bigger hill right as these tanks drove around the front of our position, then around the hill and started popping cs grenades. I saw the smoke coming over the back of the hill toward the platoon so I shot off some blanks and stood up bare assed making the gas warning signal with my arms. needless to say, you all thought I was insane, but I had the brains to wait until the cs was gone to come back down, those tankers pulled a good one on us that night. Also in Thailand in the jungle this little dog started following us around for a day or two and come chow time one of us gave it the M.R.E. no one wanted( beef with BBQ sauce) the dog wouldnt eat it but someone went to take a shit and the dog ran over and chowed down on the crap
Then there is the earthquake when we were in the aditorium and no one wanted to be the first one to run out, but when one guy moved we all were out in less than 5 seconds

Favorite Story: Ahhh Lyman.....If there was ever a marine who brought more humor to a unit, god help him. On weekend Gunny asked for some volunteers, but didnt tell us what it was for. Lyman got 'voluntered', only to find out we were going to be escorts for the Miss Teen Yucca Valley competition. We all got to wear our blues and look quite spit polished and were invited back to the winners mothers house for a party afterword. Lyman got so messed up he passed out in a chair and wet himself. Twice. He misplaced his Dress Blues Coat in Sgt Wagners old scout harvester. He had to wear just the trousers and his white t-shirt onto base the next day, where some WM pulled over in the parking lot to tear his ass apart for being out of uniform. Damn that was great time......
